The Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority is proud to share that Gwynneth Wildcatt, Director of Accessibility, Resources, and Member Services, has been appointed to the North Carolina Medicaid Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC).
The BAC is a newly established advisory group comprised exclusively of individuals with lived experience as Medicaid beneficiaries, family members, or caregivers. Its purpose is to ensure that the voices of those directly impacted by Medicaid are heard and respected in the development and implementation of policies. The Council will advise the state and the NC Medicaid Managed Care Advisory Committee (MAC) on key issues affecting beneficiaries and help guide a more person-centered Medicaid system.
“Mrs. Wildcatt’s appointment ensures the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the EBCI Tribal Option continue to be represented on the state-level,” said Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority CEO Casey Cooper. “She has been a tireless advocate for equitable access to care and services for enrolled members in her current role and her seat at the table ensures that the unique perspectives and needs of those served by the EBCI Tribal Option—are represented in critical statewide conversations.”
We congratulate Gwynneth on this important appointment and look forward to the ways her leadership will continue to strengthen the connection between state Medicaid policy and the well-being of our community.
