Cherokee, NC – March 18, 2024 – Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority (CIHA) is proud to announce that two of its dedicated employees, Gwynneth Wildcatt, Director of Accessibility, Resources and Member Services, and Taylor Benally, Patient Access manager, were invited to serve as presenters during the Indian Health Service (IHS) Patient Registration and Patient Benefits Coordination Training in Reno, NV. The training, which took place from March 12-15, 2024, was attended by staff, including managers, who are directly responsible for patient registration and/or patient benefits coordination functions within the Indian Health Service.

During their presentation, Wildcatt and Benally showcased CIHA’s Patient Access procedures, highlighting the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality, culturally competent care to the Cherokee community. They also explained how CIHA’s guiding principles serve as the foundation for patient services, ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care and support.
