Analenisgi Inpatient Unit

The Analenisgi Inpatient Unit at Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority provides compassionate, culturally centered mental health care for enrolled members of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians. “Analenisgi,” meaning “they are beginning to recover,” reflects our commitment to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and resilience.

In July 2018, Tribal leadership approved funding for a new psych/detox inpatient unit, expanding services by building upon the old hospital structure located next to the new CIHA campus. Demolition of the old facility began in February 2019, and the Crisis Stabilization Unit, now known as the Analenisgi Inpatient Unit, officially opened in 2021.

Our 10-bed facility offers a safe and supportive environment for adults experiencing acute mental health challenges. We combine modern, evidence-based care with the cultural values, traditions, and holistic approaches that are integral to Cherokee identity. Our multidisciplinary team of behavioral health professionals, cultural liaisons, and support staff work together to create individualized care plans that respect each person’s story and unique path to wellness.

At Analenisgi, we prioritize dignity, self-determination, and community connection. Our goal is not only to help individuals manage their immediate needs but also to provide tools for long-term mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
