Analenisgi Child & Family Services
At Analenisgi Child and Family Services, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services to Cherokee tribal members. Our mission is to support children and families through culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care that fosters healing, growth, and resilience.
Where We Are
Our intake and assessment services are available at the Child and Family Office, located at 75 Paint Town Road in Cherokee. We also offer school-based behavioral health services at both Cherokee Central Schools and Dora Reed Head Start.
Additionally, we provide specialized services through our Integrated Child Welfare Team in collaboration with Family Safety and Juvenile Services.
Our Specialized Services
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): Helps children cope with the emotional effects of trauma by providing evidence-based strategies to process and manage distressing experiences.
- Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP): Designed for children aged 0-5 who have experienced family disruption or trauma. This therapy focuses on strengthening the parent-child relationship to restore safety and promote healthy development. Referrals primarily come from Dora Reed Head Start, with an emphasis on supporting mothers in regaining custody and strengthening family bonds.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): An effective approach for individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), EMDR helps process and resolve distressing memories and associated symptoms stemming from trauma.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A psychotherapeutic approach that addresses dysfunctional thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is effective in treating depression, anxiety, substance use, eating disorders, and severe mental health conditions.
- Circles of Security: Focuses on enhancing caregiver awareness of a child’s attachment needs. This program supports the development of secure attachments, which are essential for healthy emotional and psychological growth.
- Positive Indian Parenting (PIP): Developed by the National Indian Child Welfare Association, this culturally specific training empowers American Indian and Alaska Native parents by reviving traditional teachings about child-rearing and strengthening family connections.
