Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority Provides April Update on Cherokee County Clinic Project

The Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority (CIHA) is excited to share the latest progress on the Cherokee County Clinic project. This week, CIHA Executive Director of Engineering Damon Lambert visited the site for the monthly project meeting with construction leads, architects, and the building crew to review key milestones and upcoming phases of work.

Significant visual advancements have taken shape this month, particularly with the building’s exterior. Installation of the windows is now underway, and the final

shingles have been placed on the roof, giving the structure a nearly finished look from the outside.

Inside the building, systems critical to patient comfort and functionality are quickly coming together. The HVAC system is approximately 90% complete, while plumbing and electrical work are both around 70% finished. Installation of drywall

has begun, marking another major step toward the interior build-out.

In preparation for the clinic’s opening, staff have started securing artwork to create a welcoming and healing environment for future patients. Several beautiful pieces have already been secured, adding a meaningful touch to the new space. Additionally, the clinic has finalized the purchase of all brand-new dental equipment, with deliveries scheduled to begin in July—ensuring installation is completed well ahead of the clinic’s opening.

The Cherokee County Clinic project remains on track for a September 2025 completion, staying closely aligned with its original timeline. CIHA is eager to bring this much-anticipated facility to life, expanding healthcare access and services for the Cherokee community and surrounding areas.
