Our Nutrition Department: Discovering Delicious Ways to Live Healthier.
Though it is something that can often be taken for granted in our daily lives, nutrition is often at the source of a variety of health-related issues. The talented team in our Nutrition Department works within a multidisciplinary approach to offer Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients of CIHA. Upon first visiting the department, you will be given an inpatient nutrition assessment by a Registered Dietitian (RD). RDs also provide outpatient nutrition consultations as part of CIHA’s Integrated Care Teams. Lastly, those same RDs provide our Cherokee patients with critical education and diet prescriptions for a variety of health conditions. All of our dietitians are licensed by the state of North Carolina and maintain registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
