To ensure the health and safety of the community, COVID-19 vaccines are now available for distribution at the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority and EBCI Public Health and Human Services. However, due to current supply limits, the initial phase of vaccine distribution will be reserved for Tribal Elders aged 59 1/2 years or older who are eligible for services from the Cherokee Indian Hospital.

To facilitate the vaccination process, a dedicated walk-in clinic has been scheduled, commencing on Thursday, October 12. The clinic will be held on Thursday October 12 and Friday October 13 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., providing eligible Tribal Elders with convenient access to the vaccine.

Key Information:

Eligibility: Tribal Elders aged 59 1/2 years or older who are eligible for services from the Cherokee Indian Hospital.

Location: Cherokee Indian Hospital – Access the hospital through the primary care entrance and follow signs to the clinic, which will be held in the River Cane Conference room.

Vaccine Appointment: In addition to the walk-in clinic, the vaccine will be available by appointment. To schedule an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, eligible individuals are advised to contact their primary care provider.

No Primary Care Provider?: If you do not have a primary care provider, please call 497-9163 to arrange your vaccination appointment.

Be advised that patients CAN receive both the flu vaccine and the COVID vaccine at the same time, however, if you have received the flu vaccine recently, you must wait 2 weeks after receiving the flu vaccine before receiving a COVID vaccine.

Once the demand to provide the vaccine to Tribal Elders is met, the second phase of distribution will be announced which will include individuals at high-risk.
